Through our daily lessons, class activities, projects, and lab reports, students will be challenged to think critically, communicate, collaborate, be creative, practice problem-solving, and anaylze information thoroughly.
In class, students will have the option to take notes using their science binders or chromebooks. Many assignments, class activities, resources, and class photos will be posted on our Google Classroom.

7th Grade Science
The students in the seventh grade will be studying physical science throughout the year. Physical science consists of topics that deal with both chemistry and physics. Some of the topics we will be studying are: solids, liquids, and gases, thermal energy, waves and electromagnetic radiation, electricity and magnetism, atoms and the periodic table, chemical reactions, and forces of motion. Our daily lessons will consist of instructional units based on key ideas and major understandings of the New York State curriculum. Students will engage in hands-on activities such as in class laboratory activities and projects to demonstrate understanding of material. In addition, assessments will test students' ability to explain, analyze, and interpret scientific content, and generate science inquiry.
8th Grade Science
The students in the eight grade will be taking a regents course this year known as The Living Environment. The curriculum for Living Environment is organized into instructional units based on the key ideas and major understandings of the New York State curriculum. These are further organized into specific objectives for lessons and laboratory activities to be completed throughout the year. We will be focusing on applying skills related to real-world situations and phenomena. Assessments will test students'ability to explain, analyze, and interpret scientific content, and generate science inquiry.
