Easter

We are excited about our class auction project!  The students wrote letters to God, and we put them all together in a frame with a decorative cross.  Pictures of the students' hands holding a cross or rosary beads are interspersed around the letters.

The students are making steady progress this year and are growing academically, spiritually, and socially.  They are becoming more responsible and organized when it comes to changing classes and keeping track of all their classes.

The sixth graders take turns helping the kindergarten children at recess.  This is a tradition at Notre Dame that the students look forward to every year.  This year's sixth graders are no exception!

The students will have the opportunity to order from Scholastic Book Club every month.  The easiest method of ordering from Scholastic is online at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs.  Use our one-time Class Activation Code when you register:  LMVKP  If you wish to pay by check, please make check out to Scholastic Book Clubs.  (Please do not send cash with the orders.)  Thank you.

The sixth graders have a subscription to Storyworks magazine.  The articles can also be found online at storyworks.scholastic.com.  The students can log in at the student site using the student password.  (The password is the name of our "class pet" followed by my room number.)

Please remember to send in an absent note with your child when he/she returns to school.

You may have some questions about the Common Core Standards.  The intent of the standards is to ensure the success of students in college and careers to be literate individuals in the 21st century and to be competitive internationally.  The following Web site is a good resource to explain the CCS.

Thank you for supplying your child's homeroom with tissues, paper towels, and wipes.  They are greatly appreciated!
